Theory of Multiple Intelligence
They are depicted in the wheel that follows
Our schools and culture focus most of their attention on linguistic and logical intelligence says that we should also place equal attention on individuals gifted in the other types of intelligence like the artists, architects, musicians, naturalists, designers, dancers, therapists, entrepreneurs and others who enrich the world in which we live. The multiple intelligence approach proposes a major transformation in the way our schools are run. Teachers are trained to present their lessons in a wide variety of ways using music, cooperative learning, art activities, roleplay, multimedia, field trips, inner reflection and much more, so that each child has the opportunity to learn in ways that are harmonious with their unique minds. At AGS, our assessments are based on Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligence theory.
According to Howard Gardner, all human beings have several types of intelligence that can be nurtured.
Well developed verbal skills and expressing interest in reading books or solving puzzles.
Ability to conceptualize and decipher patterns, codes and logical patterns.
Showing keen interest on nature and outdoor activities.
Ability to think creatively and visualize more accurately and abstractly.
Ability to participate
actively in sports and handle objects skilfully.
Ability to produce and appreciate Rhythm and music.
Capacity to detect and respond appropriately to the moods, motivations and desires of others.
Capacity to be self-aware and in tune with the inner feelings, values, beliefs and thinking processes
